The Providence Business News C-Suite Awards are based on the assumption that business leaders need extraordinary teams if they are to achieve extraordinary results. I am honored to have been awarded the 2017 C-Suite Award for CTO in a small private company.
The RI Tech Collective Tech10 award recognizes Rhode Island’s most accomplished and innovative individuals and organizations. Awarded to 10 recipients per year, this award makes it cool to be a professional geek!
The Rhode Island Business Plan Competition aims to create and foster growth companies in Rhode Island that will increase local employment. Established in 2000, is the leading community-supported business plan competition in the Northeast. The Competition encourages plans for new businesses, as well as from early stage companies. An early stage, or seed stage, company typically is at the inventor stage where there is an idea, a concept, or even a product, but little or no income has been generated yet. I was honored to be selected as a Judge for the 2017 award season.
Formed by the North Kingstown Town Council in 2015, the ITAC mandate is to explore and evaluate the current-state of technology in the Town, and to provide recommendations and solutions to improve the use and benefit of technology within Town government. I was elected Chairman and as a group we have accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. We have worked to improve self-service capabilities for town employees, we have improved internet connectivity between town offices, we have selected a vendor for a new town website, and have worked on improving the backup and disaster recovery capabilities in the Town.
The VMWare vExperts program is to award individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions to the community and a willingness to share their expertise with others. The vExpert community is made up of around a thousand active and vocal evangelists worldwide for virtualization, and I am proud to have been recognized and accepted to this program each year since 2014.

The Year Up mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. I have been a mentor to some amazing young adults since I started with Year Up in 2014, and always look forward to seeing them thrive!
When Pat Sabatino asked me to help him get Datarista off the ground, I was eager to accept the challenge. I had worked on-and-off with Pat since 2003 in various "big data" companies and engagements, and knew that any idea he had would be a success due to his passion and drive. I began advising Datarista in 2015 and helped Pat get basic business requirements (email, website, firewall, switching, wireless, directory services, etc...) off the ground. With the company in growth mode I took on a board seat at Pat's request, and am very much enjoying seeing his dream come to fruition.
Leadership Rhode Island provides leaders and emerging leaders with knowledge and access to resources which will enable them to positively affect their communities. As part of my LRI class we focused on Quonset, and my team built the QuonsetJobs.com site to better close the skills-gap and connect job seekers with companies in the business park.
